New providers and locations
- Dr. Nimit Lad, orthopedic sports medicine surgeon, joins Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute – Sports Medicine in Snellville. He has specialized fellowship training in sports medicine. More: sportsmedicine.northside.com.

New leadership recognition
Dr. Nicole Kounalakis, medical director of the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute Melanoma and Skin Cancer Program, has been named the community oncology representative for the National Cancer Institute’s Melanoma and Skin Cancer Steering Committee. Best of Cherokee Awards
Northside providers and services were honored in the 2025 Best of Cherokee awards by readers of the Cherokee Tribune and Cherokee Ledger-News:
- Atlanta Gastroenterology's Dr. Nandha Kanagarajan named Best Gastroenterologist; Dr. Neal Patel, third-place.
- Dr. Casey Turner and Dr. Christina Powers of Medical Associates of North Georgia placed first and third for Best Primary Care Doctor.
- Dr. Turner also named Best Family Physician and placed third for Best General Practice Doctor.
- North Georgia OB/GYN Specialists earned first and second for Best OB-GYN Group.
- Dr. Angela Falany named Best OB-GYN; Kellie Pack, CNP, placed second.
- Northside Hospital Cherokee Outpatient Rehabilitation named Best Occupational Therapy Group and second for Physical Therapy.
- Northside Hospital Heart Institute's Dr. Eric Nelson, Dr. Mehul Bhatt and Dr. Ramal Weragoda swept first, second and third as Best Cardiac/Vascular Specialists.
- Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute took two of three top spots for Best Orthopedic Group.
- Dr. Brian Seng tied for Best Orthopedist; Dr. Jimmy Jiang placed third.
- Dr. Travis Jones earned second for Best Podiatrist.
