Northside sponsors Gwinnett speaker series

Four Gwinnett County leaders will discuss the area’s future at an event that’s part of the Gas South District Speaker Series in August.

“Gwinnett 2045: Planning Tomorrow, Today,” is presented by Northside Hospital. It will take place at 10 a.m. Aug. 27 at the Gas South District in Duluth.

“Our goal with this Speaker Series is to bring leaders together who not only understand where Gwinnett has been, but who are also actively shaping where it’s going,” said Stan Hall, CEO of Gas South District. “It’s a conversation grounded in vision, leadership and shared responsibility.”

The event includes four speakers:

  • Debbie Bilbro is the president and CEO of Northside Hospital Gwinnett and Northside Duluth. Under her leadership, the hospitals have undertaken numerous construction projects including a 15-story patient tower at Northside Gwinnett, a portion of which will open later this year. Since a 2019 merger with Gwinnett Medical Center, Northside has opened medical office buildings in Buford and Snellville, with another coming to Braselton.
  • Kevin Carmichael is the senior vice president of Partnership Gwinnett and of economic development at the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce. In his role, he leads the strategic vision and execution of Partnership Gwinnett, the community and economic development initiative aimed at driving sustainable economic prosperity in the community.
  • Adrienne Simmons has served on the Gwinnett County Board of Education since 2023 and currently serves as its chairwoman. She has worked in public education as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, literacy coordinator and statewide administrator. She has a doctorate in educational leadership from Clark Atlanta University.
  • Glenn Stephens is the Gwinnett County administrator, a role he’s held since 2009. He is an attorney with more than 20 years of experience representing county and city governments. He previously served as director of the county Planning and Development Department and a senior assistant county attorney.

Courtney Bryant, an anchorwoman at Fox 5, will facilitate the discussion.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. for a networking hour including continental breakfast. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
